This time I made tags using the Delightful Decorations set and Ornament punch found in the Holiday Mini. Not only will they be so cute on a package, but a cute little gift too! Scroll down to the next post to see tags kreated with the Lev 2 Hostess set, Christmas Punch. I rec'd a lot of requests for my 'tweaked' version of box and acetate lid. I will bring both box versions to you later this week :) I just need to get caught up after a weekend away.
*Ornament images were stamped in Soft Suede, Real Red, Old Olive and Bashful Blue onto Whisper White and then popped out with the Ornament Punch.
*Each ornament was also 'backed' with a Real Red punched out ornament.
*Using the 1/16" Circle Punch to pop out a hole in the neck of the ornament to thread some Gold Elastic Cord through.
*Tied each gold loop with a knotted 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon in Real Red, Old Olive, White, or Bashful Blue.
*Placed them in my 4 quadrant box (stay tune for directions at the end of the week!)
*Acetate lid and adorable Red Polka Dot Ribbon to hold this cute little package together.
*Kreated an additional gift tag using my Big Shot and Two Tags Die
*Ran my Whisper White tag back through the Petals a Plenty Embossing Folder
*Using my Crop a dile, placed a Jumbo Eyelet through the top
*Popped out an additional Real Red stamped Delightful Decoration ornament and adhered it with a dimensional to the front of my tag.
*The inside of the tag, a 'to: from:' and a Merry Christmas wish to my recipient.
Cute right?

Christmas Punch Tags

It's time for another challenge with the Pals. PPA15, a color challenge: Ruby Red, Taken with Teal and Going Gray. OK, I totally cheated: Ruby Red, Pacific Point (last years In Color - close(sorta) to Taken with Teal, right?) and Silver (its just a shiner gray) - well if I am being policed by my favorite Pals than I may be 'in trouble', but lets just run with it!! I'll take my chances :)
This set was a sample at my Tags Bags and Bows class using the hostess lev 2 Christmas Punch set, such a fun set. (you'll see the tags we made in my class in just a few days, promise). I couldn't wait to kreate one of these after seeing the sample in the current Idea Book and Catalog
*Each image was inked in either Pacific Point or Ruby Red and stamped onto Whisper White and popped out with its' coordinating punch. Some stamps were colored on directly with the corresponding markers in order to isolate specific colors on the stamp or images were colored in directly.
*Each image was then backed with a Ruby Red or Pacific Point coordinating punch and stamped with a 'to/from:' in this set. Some images were snipped out slightly to reveal an outline of the colored backing behind it.
*Of course I could not complete this project without a little extra festive glitz. Each tag glistens with a bit of Dazzling Diamonds. If you click to enlarge photo you may see this detail a bit better.
*My 1/16" punch kreated a tiny hole to slip my 'shiny gray' (Silver Cording) to tie off to kreate my tag. They all fit nice 'n snug in my little Pacific Point divider box. I left off the acetate lid as it was giving off a nasty glare - I'll have to try and take a picture during the day in some natural light. A big thanks to my pal Carla who sent me to Tonya Allens blog where she had directions for this box. I altered the directions to make them a bit easier to put together. Let me know if you'd like my 'tweaked' instruction :) These were so fun to put together and I'll be making quite a few more for little gifts.
Let me know what you think and shhhhh, don't tell anyone I cheated a bit with my colors :)

Holiday Bags
Monday night was my holiday Tags, Bags and Bows class. Thanks ladies, it was a fun night! I hate feeling like I am bypassing Thanksgiving, which I love, but Christmas is quickly approaching and there is much to be done. Anyone with me? So while there aren't too many non food preparations :) for Thanksgiving, we started some packaging preparations for Christmas. Its great to have some bags on hand to decorate. You can easily personalize a gift with a handmade bag for any occasion. Stamp, stencil, punch, wheel, its really quite easy!
I am loving using stencils from the definitely decorative catalog . I've been hoarding my Vintage Ornament Stencils for awhile, but with the holidays quickly approaching, I'm ready to play!! Wait until you see the fun projects I will be kreating with them :) Two of these bags I kreated using the Vintage Ornament Stencils with Bravo Burgandy, Soft Suede, Handsome Hunter, Gold Encore inks. Aren't they so pretty?? Although I'm not sure pictures really are doing them justice, so you'll just have to try one for yourself :)

The other bag, for those that were 'intimidated' by the stenciling, a simple punched out holly (thanks to the inspiration of Andrea Walford) and Gold Encore inked sentiment from the All Holiday set.
To kreate the holly:
* use the Wide Oval Punch - pop out 3 Handsome Hunter Ovals
* using the 1-1/4" Circle punch, take some 'bites' out of your oval
* using a Sponge Dauber, sponge Gold Encore ink around your leaf edges
* pop out 3 Real Red berries - OR add a little festive bling with 3 Circle Fire (red) Rhinestone Brads - oooh aaaah :)
Simple look, but still very pretty.
What do you think? Leave me a comment and let me know, I love it when you do :)

Think Pink

The PPA14 challenge today is to 'Think Pink' in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month. Unfortunately we all know of someone effected by this terrible disease, so lets raise awareness together with a tribute to all those battling this disease and to all those that have beat it!
I was initially in pink baby mode as my girlfriend is due any day, but then decided to 'think pink' in Christmas mode. I have always loved the look of the soft pink and white poinsettias, it makes me think of a Victorian era. I had seen Andrea Walford kreate holly leaves from a Wide Oval punch and 1-1/4 Circle Punch. Not quite poinsettias, but a non traditional holly and Christmas colors... I thought it would be the perfect soft pink touch. I was in love with the idea in my head more than the outcome of my card. I'm sure I'm not the only one this happens to! Maybe it will grow on me?! or maybe I'll need to work on it :)
* Standard Whisper White card base with the edges sponged with Pretty in Pink. Tip: I use daubers on almost every card I make. They keep my fingers clean :) (hate to get an ink smudge on a finished card!), and they are the perfect little tool to add a little depth and dimension.
* Used a VersaMark Pen to line the edge of the card and heat set some Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder.
* Popped out three Wide Ovals in Whisper White and applied some Champagne Shimmer Paint with a Sponge Dauber. Using a 1-1/4" Circle Punch, I continued to kreate my holly leaves.
* Added some Pretty in Pink to the edges of my holly with ...yep, a Sponge Dauber. Then edged each holly leaf with some Crystal Effects and Dazzling Diamonds.
* Each holly leaf was popped up on dimensionals and 3 pink Fire Circle Rhinestones kreate the 'berries'
* The Scribbles Swirls sizzlit and Old Olive took a run through my Big Shot. Added some Crystal Effects and more Dazzling Diamonds to match my holly.
* My sentiment, from All Holidays, was inked in Regal Rose Craft ink and set with some Iridescent Ice embossing powder.
* The corner accents come from the Pattern Pines Hostess Lev 1 set in the Holiday Mini. These were given the same treatment as my sentiment.
Think Pink and make sure to upload your kreation to the PPA. The design team has some pink Blog Candy waiting for you!!

Fun Little Treats
Not fancy schmancy, just a quick little gift idea (for any occasion really - just change up the filling and decor - check out my other sample below)... I took this cute little jar, filled with some candy corn, added some gorgeous SU 1-1/4" Striped Ribbon around the cap and embellished the cap front. Viola, instant cute little gift, right? By the way, Crushed Curry and Pumpkin Pie are a perfect color match for candy corn :)
* My Circle Scissor Plus came in extremely handy to make just the perfect Crushed Curry circle to 'hide' my cap. This is a must have tool if you want easy, quick perfect circles
* Using my Scallop Circle Punch, I popped out a Pumpkin Pie Scallop Circle and with a dauber, sponged the edges in Pumpkin Pie. I'm never without my daubers - a little distressing of edges adds a lot of depth
* With the Batty for You set, I inked up my pumpkin image with my SU Markers. I love using my markers to isolate colors on my images. Basic Black makes the cute sentiment stand out around my Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive pumpkin.
* A few small google eyes adhered with Crystal Effects makes it a bit whimsical.
A simple gift idea, under 10 minutes to kreate. Recycle some of your jars and have fun making a cute little treat :) Hope this gives you some inspiration for any last minute Halloween goodies.
Supplies:
Stamps: Batty for You (116576)
Paper: Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White
Ink: Pumpkin Pie SU Markers: Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Basic Black

Here's another quick sample, using my punches to kreate Tom Turkey on my cap (click here to see what I did last year with these fun gobblers :) ). This would be a cute favor for the kids at the dinner table Thanksgiving Day wouldn't it?!
